McClellan automation designs and manufactures custom fluid dispensing systems for epoxy potting materials, wax drug suspensions, silicone lubricants, liquid reagents and other materials.
Our expert automation engineers designed high-precision systems that dispense volumes ranging from liters to nano liters with accuracy of 0.1% of total volume. While the speed of the machine depends on the specific applications, our dispensing systems’ typical speed ranges from 10 to 60 dispensing operations per minute. For example, our capsule fill machine, designed to capsules with fill radioactive wax suspension, can fill up to 2700 capsules per hour. We specialize in integrating positive displacement pumps that are very accurate and repeatable. We have extensive experience integrating rotary piston pumps, syringe pumps, diaphragm pumps, and peristaltic pumps by manufacturers including Ivek, Kloehn, and Lee Valve.
McClellan Custom Dispensing Systems
We designed and built dispensing systems for a variety of applications including capsule filling, silicone lubrication of parenteral devices, reagent dispensing, and potting of electronic devices.
McClellan does not shy away from challenging projects. As with all of our automation systems, the McClellan dispensing systems are custom designed and built for each Customer to meet specific project requirements. One testament to McClellan’s extensive dispensing system capabilities is the machine we have engineered to fill a product dispenser, which filled a hygiene product container with a two part solid paste. The most challenging aspect of the project was designing the three-stage fill nozzle that had complete independent control of heating, cooling, dispensing, and motion. The McClellan engineering team was able to meet the challenge by applying extensive R & D and custom machining to create separate heating and cooling tubes embedded into the fill nozzles. The nozzles were attached to independent servo ball screws that were PC controlled and synchronized not only to each other, but also to the servo driven dispense pumps to precisely fill and cool at each stage of the fill process. The result was a two-color product.
